Use the paper towels or air dryers to dry them. Don’t touch the sink or taps after you have washed. On leaving you can also use another towel to open the door, so you don’t touch the handle. When you are out and about carry a small alcohol-based sanitiser with you.

To prevent germs from spreading to others when you know that you are sick, stay home, there is no point sharing an illness with the rest of your office.

In public areas you are pretty much exposed to all sorts of germs, but within your office, you have more control over the environment. Colleagues use every area of the work premises and can leave germs everywhere. The answer to cutting down on everyone’s exposure at the office is consistent cleanliness.

When you clean you are also transferring germs to the cloths, brushes, mops and buckets that you use. Make sure you don’t forget to also wash them. Disinfect cloths and brushes. Use two buckets when mopping. One for water and detergent, the other for clean rinsing water.
